The War Against Hunger is a food bank which is also a project of the American International Relief. The service is provided to local families in collaboration with providers of food products. Working together with Farm Share in Homestead we are able to collect food on a weekly basis and distribute to families in need in our community.
The families and individuals who participate in the program are selected based on identifiable need through application at our local office. Once the application is reviewed and documentation is verified, the family is qualified to receive food. If the applicant is elderly or disabled, we will provide door to door food distribution from our food bank.
Holiday Cheer!
We at AIR believe that the holidays should be special for everyone in our community. We make a particular effort during holidays to provide families with festive foods such as turkeys and hams. Our constituents learn about our services through aggressive and extensive public relations campaign including targeted radio programming, community outreach and faith based collaborations.
